HEADLINE performances by Langa Mavuso, PH and The Muses, at the Hollywoodbets Durban July- JC Le Roux’s Marvellously You marquee, was eclectic.
Fans, fashionistas and punters came in large numbers to be part of the celebration last Saturday, July 5, at the Greyville race course.
Set-up in a picnic style the marquee itself turned self-expression into an art form, celebrating fashion and style within an immersive space coloured by the brand’s signature palette of golds, blush tones and ivory.
After a long walk from parking and passing hundreds of VIP lounges along, young and old dressed to the nines, and permitting weather- “and you can keep your cold Jozi” as per uttering from guests, we finally made it to the the JC Le Roux marquee atop the field, and were welcomed with glass of sparkling wine and a sweet treat to set the scene.
Guests were treated to customised tasting experiences that included JC Le Roux’s signature Cap Classique, Le Domaine and Le Fleurette. These pairings were brought to life with short masterclasses and tasting notes which allowed guests to engage more deeply with the legacy of JC Le Roux, one that proudly blends Stellenbosch tradition with a contemporary, celebratory spirit.
“Plush seating and two gold-accented bars anchored a setting that was equal parts luxurious and relaxed, and that was designed to re-energise guests and transport them from the outside world, transforming them from spectator to honoured guest,” said Siphokazi Solani, BTL Brand & Events Executive – Wines Category.
“The lounge became a sanctuary were guests unwound, reconnected and enjoyed the moment.”
On a million reason why we’re all at the event- ‘The Real Prince’ was crowned Champion Sprinter for 2025.
Ridden by Craig Zackey and trained by Dean Kannemeyer ‘The Real Prince’ narrowly got the better of race favourite Eight On Eighteen in the Gr1 R5 million race.
Third was Selukwe with Royal Victory finishing strongly for fourth.
Despite cold weather in the evening, fun was had by all and sundry!
