From Zar to Opium. Make sense?
This week sees the opening of a new and upmarket Opium, which used to be Zar. The history behind the latter and its owners is a story for another day, stru!
To celebrate the unveiling of Opium in the ‘Diamond City’, the owner and businessman Kgomotso Modiragale has arranged a stellar line-up of stars to embrance it for the entire weekend.
Having launched officially last night, Metro FM’s SPHEctacula and Jazz artist Luanga Choba set the scene alight.
Tonight sees DJ Kenzhero, UJFM, Party People and other locals continuing with the fete.
Then on Saturday evening MetroFM’s DJ Sentle Lehoko and local dj’s shut it down until wee hours of Sunday morning.
Booker T & DJ Police wrap it up on Sunday from afternoon until late.
“As we celebrate Bucs success for reaching the Champions Finale, so do we with the opening of my club. No coincidence but it feels good though,” says Modiragale unapologitically.
‘We’re making a call to the masses from all walks of this beautiful province to come and celebrate this new baby with us. It is their property and we hope they will nurture this baby goin’ forward,” says the Kimberley born.
So, whoever said Kimberley has no potential must have his/her head examined…
