Salif Keita to honour Madiba as well!

 It goes down on August 18 at Soccer City, starting from 10am until wee hours of the following day.

“As we know on the 18th of July this year people across the world celebrated the Nelson Mandela International Day and this year’s Nelson Mandela International Day coincided with Madiba’s 95th birthday,” says Paul Mashatile Minister of Arts & Culture during his key note address.

Celebrated musical icon Salif Keita, Naima Mclean, Mahotella Queens, Umoja, Black Coffee, Zahara, Yvonee Chaka Chaka and others have been confirmed.

The Mandela Day Cultural has been used to raise funds for the Nelson Mandela Childrens’ Hospital, one of Madiba’s wishes.

Although unconfirmed, the Mandela’s are expected to grace the occassion even though Madiba is still hospitalised.

This special day will begin with soccer legends: SA vs Italy, Boks against Argentina and Bafana facing Burkina Faso, respectively.

The mouthwatering sporting day wraps-up with a music concert featuring music exponents until wee hours of the morning!
