TKO grand finale. Which will be the last team standing?

Starting with party spoilers Wits, have been a thorn in Pirates flesh following their 3-1 league defeat a fortnight ago.

‘The Students’ as Wits is known have outgrown your typical skop and donner typical football and now display class and simplicity, especially using wings as their strong-points.

Having acquired unknowns from the developmental sides and blended them with the likes of matured and Bafana midfielder star S’fiso Myeni, on-form and Bafana possible candidate Ryan Chapman, Stanton Fredericks and David Oliviera, the team has been labeled ‘party-spoilers’ for they can turn the tables when the odds are gainst them.

It has been said by all and sundry, that the mathematician display has proved a nightmare for opponents to deal with. The acquisition of well traveld and vast experienced OJ Mabizela has somewhat solidified the back-four defence thus has motivated the players to charge forward as possible as they deem fit.

Temperamental coach Rogerio De Sa and his technical team led by Eric Tinckler, should also be applauded for turning the doom boys into ‘Clever Boys’, in keeping up with the tradition of the club which boasted the likes of Juluka Radebe, (Freddy Rafferty), Roger De Sa, and Wellington “Umunt’ akalahwa” Manyathi, to mention the few.

Young as they, Wits’ are likely to have an upper hand against Pirates once again. It’s a forgone conclusion that ‘The Students’ made a meal out of Bucs this season. Will they repeat that on Saturday?

Treble champs on the other hand -impose style, boast a bunch of quality players in the country, and are raring to defend the league once again as they prepare for the tumultuous work of  Africa Champs league.

Orlando Pirates, although blowing hot and cold should thank their ancestors, and the intervention of the club’s chairman Irvin Khoza in reigniting the spark which lacked in the team and management.

Despite off the pitch wayward behaviour of certain senior players recently, Bucs are all sorted to the deal with the attacking mindset of Wits. Boasting a wish-list of players Mosimane could ever think of Pirates, have all sort of arsenals in their disposal from Daine Klate to Dikgang “Terminator” Mabalane from captain fantastic Lucky Lekgwathi to the scoring-machine Benny McCarthy, who dare stop this working machine?

Pirates ‘only down fall is losing matches they should easily collect maximum points from. But that is football for you, or kanjani?

My verdcit is, should they apply the complacency attitude Wits will destroy them to smithereens but should Bucs bring their scoring boats along, Moses Mabhida Stadium shall be painted only BLACK&WHITE.

Let the best team win at the end of this 2011/2021 TKO Cup!

Amen!
