One of South Africa’s greatest footballers’ will be honored when legends from former club Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates entertain each other on Sunday.
“Mabheka-phanzi” as he was known to loyal throngs of fans played for teams in US and SA, mesmerized defenders with clever skills and dazzled fans with that trademark smile.
The game is in commemoration of the 10-year anniversary of the legend’s passing at the age of 54. He died mysteriously on 8 May 2006.
According to Chiefs’ official website, Doctor “16 V “Khumalo, Siyabonga Nkosi, Derrick Spencer, Cyril “Intsimbi” Nzama, Tshepo “Fetsi” Molatedi and Gardner Seale, are among the players that will be involved.
There will be a wreath laying ceremony at Ace’s tombstone on Sunday and also have a plaque bearing his name unveiled at the match venue.
The match begins at 15h00 at Mohlakeng Stadium, Randfontein.
Tickets will be sold at stadium.
