As part of its buy local campaign, Proudly South Africa will be hosting a two-day Summit/Expo at Sandton Convention Center.
The annual buy local Summit-now entering its sixth edition- seeks to sensitize locals on the importance of buying local stuff or kanjani?
Proudly SA’s CEO, Eustace Mashimbye commented that: “It’s important to shake things up from time to time and explore different angles of the same story, and promoting a sense of a national identity is an important part of our work,” he says.
TV personality Leanne Manas, will spearhead the discussions and the likes of Basetsana Kumalo, Nestlé Executive for Food, Laila Naidoo, fashion designer David Tlale, Group GM at M-Net Nkateko Mabaso, author of KasiNomics, GG Alcock and the Cape Craft Design Institute Executive Director Erica Elk, will talk on the topic ‘Buy Local: The impact of local content on our South African identity & heritage’.
“The panelists were all chosen for the great work they do in their fields to encourage the consumption, whether it’s food or tv, of local content, so I am really looking forward to hearing how the discussion goes,” says Mashimbye.
The Summit/Expo takes place from April 3 to 4 2017.
Discussions will take place at 15h00-16h00 on Tuesday 4th April in Exhibition Hall 2.
Registration to the Summit is free of charge and delegates can log on to www.buylocalsummit.co.za for more information.
