The Nedbank Cup duel. Who wants it most?

Who wants it most? Will Bucs coach Kjell Jonevret collect his first major Cup or would Matsantsa’s caretaker coach Kaitano Tembo defend what is theirs come Saturday evening?

Conscience because Bucs have no silverware this season to claim or anything to write home about.

Both teams meet in the finals on Saturday June 24 at Moses Mabhida Stadium and truth be told, Matsantsa A Pitori are the better side to defend the cup, owing to their Continental fixtures lately.

SuperSport won the 2016 edition 3-2 at the same venue. In the same year November 1, in the PSL clash the Pretoria side thrashed Bucs 6-1. Score to settle, who knows?

Yes, they’re mentally and tactically ready-whereas the Black and White have been kept busy with friendly matches. Your guess is just good as mine…

It would be justice for Bucs to lift the silverware in that none of the ‘Soweto Giants’ (Kaizer Chiefs) have registered any major cups under their belt this season.

But for fans in Durban, it will be a sea of jamboree!

However, before the game gets underway, the head of sponsorship and cause marketing at Nedbank revealed that the football fraternity will be in for a fun-filled experience.

Nedbank has a long history of providing fans with an unforgettable matchday experience at the Nedbank Cup final and this year promises to be our most spectacular one,” says Tobie Badenhorst, the Head of Sponsorship and Cause Marketing at Nedbank.

“We are determined to provide a great day out for the whole family at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, hence there is something for the young and old to enjoy,” he added.

Prior to the start of the match, fans and supporters can take part in festivities such as a penalty shootout, Nedbank Cup photo, trophy photo and autograph booth, game zone, fan face, skill zone and Nedbank gig rig.

Bucs’ media officer, Thandi Merafe, took to social media to confirm that tickets for the game at Durban’s 85 000 capacity World Cup stadium have been sold out.

#NedbankCupFinal It has just been confirmed that tickets for the final are sold OUT,” the Bucs official tweeted.

The final kicks off at 20h15.
