THE Glenlivet wet guests palate at the JoJ

Having a blast. Jazz international star Nnenna Freelon, was seen unwinding at THE Glenlivet Lounge during the JoJ.

And she took time from her tight schedule- to let her hair down- at THE Glenlivet and its Original Lounge, where visitors rubbed shoulders with performers in a one-of-a-kind setting to enjoy the finest whiskies and delectable cuisine.

Guests sipped top range THE Glenlivet brands from 12 to 15 year olds; under beautiful typical blue skies at the Sandton Convention Center.

Two decades of hosting musical legends has made the Joy of Jazz festival South Africa’s foremost event of the genre, and one of the best on the African continent.

In a similar way, THE Glenlivet’s heritage as the original single malt and its premium quality has made it the benchmark for excellence among whisky connoisseurs.

“Originality is rare, which is the reason THE Glenlivet partnered specifically with this legendary music festival,” says THE Glenlivet Brand Manager Eugene Lenford.

“It’s an association between two great brands that epitomize great history and craftsmanship. Both are true originals.”

Translated “valley of the smooth, flowing one”, THE Glenlivet was famous for its bucolic beauty.

But the distiller master George Smith soon made the region even more famous after establishing THE Glenlivet distillery in 1824, the first to produce a whisky of such exceptional quality that it was soon widely acknowledged that this is how a malt whisky should taste.

“THE Glenlivet is steeped in substance, heritage and authenticity. It’s about deeper and more meaningful experiences that stir the soul and make life more rewarding,” says Lenford.

THE Glenlivet launched the Nàdurra, a non chill-filtered single malt whisky in 2004 and now, after launching its new range elsewhere in the world two years ago, South Africa followed.

Isaac Pooe, THE Glenlivet ambassador believes the marriage of the two: THE Glenlivet and JoJ is tantamount to quintessential relationship.

Founder’s Reserve is the latest expression in its range of premium single malt whiskies and is its new un-aged expression.

It retails for R400 per bottle nationwide.
