Previously known as a traditional beer for ‘children of lesser mortals’ the owners United National Breweries, hit the market to establish what new innovation marketing strategies would work to re-introduce it back to the market with appeal to younger generation.
This resulted in world’s top spirit producer Diageo coming on board.
The sorghum brew now comes in Banana and Pineapple flavours, respectively.
Siyabonga Vithi, head of marketing at United National Breweries commented: “The new look Chibuku oozes the new cool and sophistication. It can be mixed up in different variations to create the ultimate summer cocktail.
The new flavours of Banana and Pineapple are also trendy. The launch party lived up to our expectations and beyond with all the revelry and festivities celebrating the evolution of a true African brand.”
Comedians from old school Mabutho ”Kid” Sithole to Mashabela, Tall Ass Mo, Khanyi Mbau, Tshepo Maseko, AmaNdebele singer Candy and other celebrities also graced the occasion.
