Kopanang Bakwena FC came out victorious in the opening match of the day with a 4 – 3
win over Meadowlands Liverpool FC. It was a hard fought quarter-final which saw
Bernard Msango score twice for Bakwena FC with the last two goals of the match
coming in the final 10 minutes from Mpho Motheogane and Pitso Modiselle.
Siphiwe Simelane, Promise Shilenge and Mulalo Chiloane netted for Meadowlands
Liverpool.
Kopanang Bakwena FC will be facing Mike Stars FC in the semi-finals this Sunday
(23rd October) after they beat Kliptown Youth Programme FC 3 – 1 to take up the
spot.
Stars FC scored through Tebogo Nkopane, Tshepo Sekoatle and Masego Mabua, while the
Kliptown FC goal came from Siphiwe Ngwenya.
It was a dramatic penalty shoot out in the third match of the day as The Best FC and
Chiawelo Juventus FC full time score was 2 – 2. After two spectacular goals from The
Best’s Thabang Moyo, he received a red card in the 75th minute.
Besides being a man down, The Best FC claimed their spot in the semi-finals by
winning 6 – 5 on penalties with goals from Johannes Phumo, Antonio and Edward
Magussene, Simphiwe Mbhele, Alex Zondo and Robert Thedisi.
Juventus FC scored through Tshifhina Mosendi, Innocent Radebe, Thando Mongi, Nkateko
Bilankulu and Emmanuel Sivhugwana.
