It took place at PSL offices yesterday, and the sponsors should be happy with the outcome thus far!
Orlando Pirates has been paired with KZN side Maritzburg United, whilst defending champions Kaizer Chiefs face the ‘Clever Students’ Bidvest Wits.
Pirates went into the hat following their hard win against the current PSL title competitors, Sundowns (2-1).
Maritzburg who struggled against Free State side African Warriors, was a battle of who has vast experience. Eventually, United came out tops with a 3-1 win.
Chiefs outsmarted SuperSport with a 2-0 victory, thanks to the on-song George Lebese’s brace. The utility player used both his right and left foot to finish beautiful goals.
Wits edged-out Bloemfontein Celtic’s 2-1.
This is the first time that the Team of Choice have made it to the last four of the Nedbank Cup, and they have one more hurdle to see themselves in the final.
On the hand, Bidvest Wits tasted Nedbank Cup success before, winning it back in 2010 with coach Roger de Sa, who is now at Ajax Cape Town.
Dates and venues will be confirmed at later stage.
