These learners started the Nature Conservation Resource Management Terrestrial course with theoretical training at the South African Wildlife College in Mpumalanga for a period of 5 months and completed the course with experiential training at Golden Gate for another 5 months.
Following their hard earned work, the learners who come from all corners of the FS Province, will graduate and receive certificates at a ceremony to be attended by the MEC.
The learnership is made possible by the Department of Economic Development, Tourism, Environmental Affairs and Small Business Development in partnership with Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality, Sport, Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSETTA) and SANParks with the aim of increasing a number of skilled young people in the said field.
With such skills, the learners will be ready to be employed in the said fields.
MEC for Economic and Tourism in FS Mosebenzi Zwane said, with this learnership programme, the department wants to enhance the skills and knowledge of the students in the area of Nature Conservation as well as career path in future endeavours.
