US crooner born Gerald Rivera- known mononymously as Maxwell’s SA shows cancelled.
This was confirmed by the organisers Vertex Events, today.
He was set to perform at SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Saturday 8, and on 11 Tuesday at Grand Arena, Grand West in Cape Town, respectively.
Although reasons are not stated what could have led to the cancellation, the press release only says “The much-anticipated Maxwell South African shows that were set to take place have unfortunately been cancelled.”
“Maxwell and team have confirmed that despite the fact, they really wanted to come back to South Africa and put on great shows but unfortunately cannot make it to South Africa,” says the release.
Upon communicating with Vertex Events, several options were explored between Maxwell’s team and Vertex Events. Unfortunately, the only option left was to cancel the shows. Meanwhile Vertex Events has also tried numerous ways to find a resolve, but the matter has been beyond either party’s control, continued the press statement.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, I’m unfortunately no longer able to perform in South Africa as planned. This decision wasn’t made lightly. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the shows. I appreciate your understanding and continued support.
I hope to be back with you all soon”, according to press information from Maxwell’s team.
As indicated the real reason for cancellation still remains a mystery.
Vertex has also informed those who bought ticket will be refunded through Webtickets.
