Shosholoza Finance Group’s mandate is to offer a lending hand to community organisations in dire need of HELP

AT THE Youth Imbizo they committed to provide training and hands-on experience to potential candidates with the sole aim of hiring them either full-time or part-time.

We’re talking about Shosholoza Finance Group, an independently owned micro lending, offering short-term unsecured loans.

Shosholoza Finance was part of group of companies that attended the annual Youth Imbizo at the City of Joburg, last month, to market and promote their services to the public, who in turn would invite those youths who attended the Imbizo to apply for job training- cum employment within the financial sector.

The company can today, boast that they’ve managed to create job opportunities to 10 inexperienced youth’s, however, the number was increased to 20. This is a ‘good story to tell’ for an organization that has heeded the call to create sustainable job opportunities for our youths in the country.

It’s a never easy feat but Shosholoza Finance Group has managed to create hope for the hopeless despite the economical down-turn, increasing inflation and unstable investment opportunities currently the country faces.

According to buoyant co-founder of the group Warren Sarkis, those who have passion for (numbers) stand a good chance, and will be provided with training, hands-on experience within the group, for six-months, with the aim of employing them full-time.

“They will receive stipend during training period” he emphasized strongly during interview at the company’s head office in Bedfordview.

“Look, this is simple, If we don’t create opportunities for our own, who will?” he asked unashamedly, pointing out “we’re supporting or acting on the call by our Government to shed job unemployment”.

The vivacious Nana Nonkelela, the brains behind the company’s Community Social programmes alluded all candidates will begin hitting the ground running in earnest this month of July 2023.

“They must up the ante and see how the corporate world works hence this opportunity,” says Nana with a stern face, who also made a clarion call to the disability members of the society to also apply.

On the subject of CIS- the company is heavily involved in providing aid nationally, as part of Shosholoza Finance Charity that gives back to the community.

Since it does not provide finance to those charity organisations or to individuals- it helps with food parcels, clothes, blankets, shoes and any other aid it can help with.

So far, it has helped over 30 organisations nationally, especially where it operates business, including help in situation of disasters but only in Gauteng, says Nana.

From sport to security services from children’s festivities to adults and old ‘toppies’ gatherings Shosholoza Finance is on the ground offering help where possible, pointed out Mokgadi Anna Mpanza, who has been heading the charity work at the company for over 15 years in the company.

“The only thing that makes me sleep is, when I know that today, we’ve donated parcels to a charity organization(s). That alone puts me at rest because we know their situation and a smile from a kid, makes me sleep well at night,” acknowledged the shy but optimistic sis Mpanza.

This week on Monday, the company continued with their drive by handing-over food parcels to 15 youths’ at their head office.

According to Nana, the recipients were over the moon as ‘xmas came way too early’ for they will feast for months to come.

On the company’s other units- the jovial Warren, did point out that they also offer products such as Shosholoza Funeral cover, funeral policies as well as Shosholoza wire-less that provides alternative source of energy at affordable prices.

Going forward and expansion of the organisation- to penetrate SADC states, and increase footprint to other Metros and Municipalities.
