Defending champs’ Bucs to face Richards Bay in the last 32 Nedbank Cup fixture

THE Nedbank Ke Yona Cup always comes with mixed emotions.

During the last 32 draw held at the company’s head office in Sandton, ‘minnows’ as relatively unknown teams are referred to, are no pushovers and the PSL sides are aware of such.

And yes, expect a team called Free Agents, who will face the struggling AmaKhosi, to pull a wool over the Naturena’s face, if not why not?

Orlando Pirates, who are the defending champs for the year 2024, open their account against Richards Bay, while Mamelodi Sundowns face lesser known Sibanye Golden Stars.

Downs’ communications manager Shupi Nkgadima told this reporter, although the boys are facing the unknown, they will soldier on, as the team went on to beat AS Maniema 2-1 on Saturday, to qualify for CAF Champions League quarter.
