Jetour unveils T1 and T2 to the SA market, in time to supply 70 models for the G20 Summit

CAPE TOWN- TRAVEL without limits!

That’s the marketing tag for the new unveiled Jetour series T1 and T2, respectively.

The two ruggedness and adventure-ready SUVs were shipped in Cape Town, for the exclusive launch recently, that had media, dealer partners and stakeholders experiencing first-hand what the Chinese made had in-store.

According to Jetour, both models will go on sale mid-November at over 55 Jetour dealerships across Southern Africa.

The Jetour T1- is compact, stylish, and versatile, designed for city streets and beyond, with four T1 models available, catering to a range of drivers and lifestyles: the 1.5TD 2-wheel drive Edge, 1.5TD  2-wheel drive Aspire, the 2.0TD 4-wheel drive Xplora and the top of the range 4-wheel drive 2.0TD Odyssey. 

The Jetour T2 –boast ruggedness and its adventure-ready and combines the agility of a compact SUV with the versatility needed for weekend getaways, delivering off-road performance and sophisticated comfort.

The lineup includes the 2-wheel drive 1.5TD Aspire with 125kW power and 270Nm torque, and two 4-wheel drive options: the 2.0TD Xplora and 2.0TD Odyssey – both delivering 180kW power and 375Nm torque.

The Odyssey also features generous dimensions of 4785 x 2006 x 1880mm for added space and comfort. All T2 models come with a 70L petrol tank and are available in Onyx Black, Glacier White, Aqua Green, and Lunar Silver.

Since entering the SA market last year, the brand is making headways within the SUV market in both Dashing and 7-seater Jetour X70 Plus, achieving 12th place in national passenger car sales rankings within a year.

“When we first launched in September 2024, the response exceeded our expectations, and we anticipate an even stronger reception for these new models.”

As the cold front kicked-in, and guests sipping warm drinks to keep the body warm in the evening, Clayson Monyela- the Department of International Relations and Cooperation Deputy Director General, indicated Jetour will make available 70 models for the much anticipated G20 Summit in November, to be held in Johannesburg.

The evening also saw keynote address by Jetour International President Ke Chuandeng, who indicated they will also expand to other regions Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Moz, Mauritius, Zim, Tanzania and Kenya.

The T1 Edge is priced at R514 900, followed by the T1 Aspire at R544 900, the T1 Xplora at R594 900, and the flagship T1 Odyssey at R634 900.

The T2 range is priced at R 569 900 for the Aspire, the T2 Xplora at R 639 900, and the flagship T2 Odyssey R 679 900.

The DHL Stormers’ players, who recently signed a three-year deal with Jetour, were present to welcome both local and international guests in ‘their’ city.

To wrap up the evening celebrated trumpeter Mo-T, dynamic electronic music trio GoodLuck, and DJ Vin Deyzel, provided entertainment, as the cold evening continued biting.
