Polo Vivo has firmly established itself as South Africa’s best-selling passenger car -since 2010

THE Volkswagen Polo Vivo has reaffirmed its market leadership in the passenger car segment with the delivery of 6 344 units to customers in the first quarter of 2026.

In March 2026, Polo Vivo sold 2 258 units to demonstrate strong customer demand of the only locally produced car in the competitive A0 segment.

Since its debut in 2010, the Volkswagen Polo Vivo has firmly established itself as South Africa’s best-selling passenger car, with over 450 000 units sold to date across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Polo Vivo has a Global NCAP 4-star rating, it earned the 4 stars for Adult Occupant Protection and 3 stars for Child Occupant Protection, making it one of the safest cars in its segment. 

Effective April 2026, Volkswagen Polo Vivo is offered with a 2-year/30 000km EasyDrive service plan as standard from the Life derivative. Other features which are now available as standard from the Life derivative include rear-view camera and Park Distance Control (PDC).
