This was in partnership with Black Aces Academy and other two development squads from the greater eMalahleni region.
Although happy with the boys’ eagerness to learn, Andy Smith, Manchester City Technical Director of Coaching of the School of Football, says a lot needs to be done.
“Your young football players have the core ingredients – desire to play, respect for their coaches and team mates and the thirst for knowledge – to further their careers in football.”
“We have been so impressed with the skill and experience that the MCFC coaches have brought to our young players,” said Mario Morfou, Mpumalanga Black Aces co-chairman and CEO.
“We at Black Aces have a strong belief in development football and through this programme we aim not only to develop young players for our first team but also for our national team,” added Morfou.
Over 300 aspiring young footballers took part in the clinics.
Smith will be back and his team in July to see the progression.
The partnership sees MCFC coaches completing two more visits to South Africa this year to help Black Aces develop a strong youth development academy.
