Another film actor of note passes on!

kunene
Will be missed. Nyembezi Kunene’s death has robbed the entertainment industry of another legend.

Kunene, was best known for his role on one of the best series Emzini Wezinsizwa, alongside top actors who also passed on.

I guess they will meet and create a momentous occasion at the celestial view.

In sending her message of condolences, Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Faith Mazibuko, says:  “This is the final curtain call, after decades spent entertaining South African audiences. The industry has lost a soldier who contributed so much in this industry. In Kunene we’ve lost one of our greatest assets, a symbol of our indigenous knowledge and culture.”

Kunene, also appeared on Generations and currently is making waves on another soapie Scandal as “Dollar or Malume”.

Continued MEC: “We hope upcoming actors can follow on his footsteps and resemble the good work done by this soldier.

We hope iShashalazi Theatre, which is a SACR departmental programme targeting community theatre, will help us produce more talented and committed actors who will continue to tell our stories told by the likes of Kunene and those who went before him”.

“On behalf of the Gauteng provincial government and its people, we’d like to express our sincerest sympathies to the family, the performing arts industry and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace and his legacy continue to be an inspiration for the nation” said Mazibuko.

“Tear’s” follows on passing-on of boxing legend Muhammed Ali and Nigerian coach Stephen Kheshi, this week. Yes, we’re the Nation in mourning…

Clearly, this further shows the return of Emzini Wezinsizwa making its return to our small screens highly unlikely.

He was 74.

At the time of publishing no further details on memorial or burial were available.
