Bokgabo’s mother calls for death penalty

CALLS FOR the return of death penalty are growing everyday.

Murder, lawlessness and impunity seem to be the order the day in South Africa and the citizens, including this reporter, are GATVOL!

On Monday a (30) appeared at Benoni Court for the callous murder of a young Bokgabo Poo (4). He is accused of kidnapping, rape, murder, defeating the ends of justice and violation of a corpse.

The little’s girl leg was found in a shallow grave after community search in the East Rand, and some of her mutilated body was discovered a few meters away.

During court appearance, drama erupted when the father of the little tried to accost the murder accused Ntokozo Zikhale (30) but was refrained by cops.

Bokgabo’s mother is desperate for her child’s missing body parts to be found.

“The justice system? The guy was out on bail when he did this to my daughter. What could the justice system do now?” asked Tsholofelo Poo.

Bring back the death penalty, she said in tears streaming down her face.

“Perhaps they could bring back the death penalty? Or perhaps they could throw the case out so that we can catch him out on the streets. I don’t see the justice system doing any justice for Bokgabo now.

“He still hasn’t said anything. I still can’t find the rest of her remains. How many more months? How many more years is it going take for him to tell us where the rest of my daughter’s body is? So it’s all up in God’s hands. I don’t think the justice system will do anything.”

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi visited the family to offer condolences.

The case has been postponed to 24 October.
