She was referring to the award which the Lamunu Hotel received from the Johannesburg Development Agency 2012 Halala Awards.
It won the “Relaxing & Playing” category having outwitted the likes of POPArt performance centre, Sishen Iron Ore Truck, Renting Wisely, The Bioscope and the Past Experiences, and Johannesburg Tourism Company.
Hotel Lamunu’s The Grove was also a finalist in this year’s “Working & Buying” category.
According to Swartz, Randlords, South Point Hospitality and Lamunu’s Johnny Clegg Conference Centre were also finalists in this category, which showed how stiff this competition was.
Says Swartz, Hotel Lamunu offers a unique and superior product and we want to help entice people back to this historic part of the city.
The annual Halala Awards are hosted by JDA on behalf of the COJ which seeks to pay tribute to companies and individuals whose projects and concepts contribute to the revitalisation of Joburg’s inner city.
The hotel is located in the CBD of Braamfontein-which is ideal for business people, students and tourists.
Lamunu is a seSotho word which means orange.
