Chris Kelly of 90s hiphop duo Kris Kross dies aged 34!

The report has been confirmed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to CBS Atlanta, unnamed sources have said that Kelly was found dead at his home in Atlanta in the US.

The rapper was aged 34.

Investigator Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said Kelly was officially pronounced dead at around 10.30am this morning local time after he was found unconscious in his home.

Cpl. Kay Lester of the Fulton County police said “it appears it may have been a possible drug overdose.” An official cause of death will be announced after an autopsy.

Kelly was known as “Mac Daddy” in Kris Kross, performing alongside Chris Smith, known as “Daddy Mac”.

Their most popular hit was “Jump” from their multi-platinum selling debut album, “Totally Krossed Out”. The single went to number one in the US, and was a smash hit globally.

The pair were discovered by music producer Jermaine Dupri in 1992, and off the back of their smash hit single toured with the likes of Michael Jackson, and even had a video game.

Follow up releases, including “Tonight’s tha Nite” and “Warm It Up”, were never able to replicate the initial success of “Jump”.
