In August this year, the international soft drink company initiated the Coca Cola Happy Sundays’ Lunch, whose objective is to bring happiness to Sunday lunches across South Africa into your own home.
Yes, Coke is synonymous for its chilled and refreshing taste of a glass; hence the concept for consumers to enjoy a Sunday Lunch they will never forget with their favourite TV stars.
Two lucky winners still cannot believe their luck having won the opportunity to mingle with their soapie stars, Keketso Semoko from Isidingo; Cynthia Shange from Muvhango and Connie Chiume from Rhythm City.
“I was stunned that I won such an awesome, unforgettable experience” says Phephelani Mthimunye from Vierfontein Farm in the Free State, whom Chiume visited their family.
Says Chiume after the visit, “Phephelani and his family were amazing hosts. It was amazing to be able to share such a happy (glass of Coke) moment with them.”
To enter, consumers had to buy one 1.25L or 1.5L returnable Coca-Cola pack; and dial *120*2653# followed by the last four digits of their Coca-Cola barcode.
Winners were selected by random draw weekly over 8 weeks.
From Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal Dumisa Mkungo had a ball with Keketso Semoko aka Ma Agnes from Isidingo.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened the door and found ‘Ma Agnes’ standing there. It was such a pleasant moment,” she exclaimed with joy.
I was just amazed at how inspiring their family was, quipped Semoko, with that signature smile.
All winners received R10 000 worth of new top-of-the-range kitchen appliances.
According to Eclipse Public Relations, Coke approached a number of South Africa’s favourite soapie stars to find out if they were available to help make lunches across South Africa extra special.
