The Comic’s Choice Awards are back, for the second installment at Teatro, Montecasino tonight from 7pm.
Since its launch last year, the Comic’s Award have grown in lips -and -no so –bounds. And this time it promises to be more hilarious, poignant and unpredictable than last year, so they say.
It awards those crazy monks and wanna(bees) who think they’ve made it but haven’t reached that erection stage, oh silly me, I meant selection.
Co-director, John Vlismas says it’s great to be getting the gang together for round two designers, technicians, musicians, actors, comics, dancers and maybe even a goat we’ll see, and the extra event will be something never seen locally before the awards are growing into a cluster of events – we’re very happy to have the sponsor support we’ve got – it gives us the resources we need to make the shows really special.
With over 90% of the working comics in SA supporting the Awards, it’s also a chance for the public to join the largest gathering of comedians in SA for a night of magnificent mayhem.”
The awards are supported by Savanna, Blackberry, The Times, Kaya FM and Mzansi Magic.

Meanwhile, Comedy Central (DStv Channel 122) will shine the spotlight on South African comedy and comedians by sponsoring talented South African comic Loyiso Gola to attend the “Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival 2012” in Canada in July.
