With talk about the various after-parties, one thing is certain: we will be spoilt for choice when it comes to the best entertainment.
Now in its fifth year, Gateway has aligned itself with the Vodacom Durban July with celebrities and influential public figures being invited to attend the entertainment extravaganza.
Starting things off, The Fresh Drive will broadcast from 3pm at the Wavehouse, with the Ultimix at 6pm performed live.
Thereafter, the Preview Fashion Show will take place (about 7.15pm) followed by the free concert which will feature Pascal & Pearce, Toya Delazy, DJs Fresh, Euphonik and more.
In terms of the live broad- cast, DJ Fresh (pictured) and his crew will interact with the audience and participate in crowd-generating activities. Last year, the mix master was tattooed live on air.
Then there’s Delazy, who is often criticised for her poor live performances. But it seems Durban loves her nonetheless. And what’s impressive is that the young singer is nominated for Best International Act: Africa at the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards this year. She is up against 2Face Idibia (Nigeria), Donald (South Africa), Ice Prince (Nigeria), R2Bees (Ghana) and Radio and Weasel (Uganda).
The young and versatile dance DJ, Euphonik, will also be on the decks, giving audiences a taste of his signature sound.
Having earned his title as one of the Top 300 Young South Africans, in the Mail & Guardian, Euphonik has partygoers eating out of the palm of his hand when it comes to house music.
And if Pascal & Pearce are on the line-up, you know it’s going to be a rocking party. The highly talented duo have enjoyed much success with their singles Disko Biskit and Disco Sun and have come a long way since their first encounter with each other back in 2007.
They have collaborated with international and local artists such as Flash Republic, LCNVL, Goldfish, Zebra and Giraffe and Roger Sanchez.
In keeping with the theme of Posh? Oh my Gosh!, the entertainment will be nothing short of brilliant.
