We have a deliberate strategy of supporting and promoting youth-owned township SMEs as they are one of the primary vehicles of transformation in tourism. We thoroughly endorse this initiative and would love to see the development of more youth-owned tourism promotions related to sports weekends and believe these will succeed for cricket, rugby and a variety of other sports as well.
We think that sports is a logical catalyst and will endorse and support all such promotions in the future as they help us to promote our township tourism experiences,” says Siphiwe Ngwenya, CEO of Gauteng Tourism Authority.
