Euphonik, who is facing the charges of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, domestic violence and malicious damage to property, reportedly handed himself over to police on Wednesday.
He was released on R3 000 bail and is due to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court today.
Various tabloids reported on Sunday that Euphonik and Matheba were involved in a domestic dispute after which Matheba laid criminal charges and obtained a protection order against him.
Euphonik has denied the charges and on Sunday released a statement condemning domestic violence against women, saying: “I was shocked to see the allegations of assault levelled against me in the tabloids. Those allegations are not true and I am seeking legal advice to clear my name.”
Matheba’s spokesperson Simphiwe Majola has declined to comment because “this matter (…) is pending before courts”.
