Expect a thunderous production at the Metro FM 2024 awards ceremony

SHE has just got back home from her international obligations- thanks to her resounding success.

SA’s Grammy award winner Tyla, leads the Metro FM awards with six nominations for the song ‘Water’, in the the categories of Song of the Year, Best Female Artist, Best Music Video, Best Viral Challenge and Artist of the Year. 

The glittering awards are scheduled for April 27 at the Mbombela Stadium, Mpumalanga-‘where the Sun Rise’ for the second time.

Warner Music Africa and Africori received 14 nominations at the nominees reveal recently.

Kamo Mphela received four nods in various categories for her hit single “Dalie feat. Baby S.O.N Tyler ICU & Khalil Harrison”. 

Inkabi Zezwe, who released their culture-defining body of work “Ukhamba” equally received four nominations including Best Collaboration.

Newcomers TitoM & Yuppe also received recognition for their viral hit “Tshwala Bam feat. S.N.E and EeQue” as well as Best duo/group nomination.

Tshwala Bam wrapped up a month since release with over 28 million streams to date.

Filah Lah Lah, a phenomenal singer-songwriter hailing from Pretoria, famous for singles ‘Call Me’ and ‘Past Myself’, has been nominated in the RnB category.

Morda, got four nominations and another four feature nominations, and Mthandazo Gatya got 2 nominations under their distribution company Gamma.

This year’s theme is ‘Black To The Future’, which celebrates the achievements and contributions of black artists in the music industry by highlighting, excellence, creativity, and impact.

Amapiano is at the forefront with both Kabza the Small and Tyler ICU receiving five (5) nominations each.

Kabza the Small received nominations for Best Produced Album, Best Collaboration, Song of the Year, Best Amapiano – all the for the song ‘Imithandazo’ featuring Mthunzi. Kabza the Small was also nominated for Best Male Artist.

Tyler ICU’s five (5) nominations include Best Collaboration, Song of the Year, Best Viral Challenge, Best Amapiano – all for the ‘Mnike’, which features Tumelo. He was also nominated the Artist of the Year award.

Each category will receive R50 000, and the Song of the year winner will walk away with R150 000, courtesy of Motsepe Foundation.
