First PSL coach fired. Who's next?

The former SuperSport fooball club coach has been fired following a series of poor results and club chairman was having none of it.

Johnson becomes the first coach to be sacked this season after a decision taken immediately after SuperSport lost 2-1 to Mpumalanga Black Aces at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night — a third defeat in four Premier League matches.

Khulu Sibiya, SuperSport chairman has made it clear to both players and the coach to toe-the-line or face the music. And unfortunately, Johnson was the first casualty.

According to SuperSport online, Johnson’s assistant Kwanele Kopo — who, it appears, was no longer on good terms with the coach after he was demoted — and Kaitano Tembo will take over in the interim.

They face the marauding Kaizer Chiefs this Saturday evening at FNB Stadium.

Rumour-mill has it that former Bafana coach Gordon Igesund could be in line for the vacant position, whose contract expires this Sunday.

Johnson has indeed opened the flood gates. Now the question is, who’s next?
