With a minimal investment amount of R35, Avroy Shlain provides the investor with an easy and profitable way to enter the cosmetics industry: a new recruit may purchase five brochures, five order forms, five incentive leaflets and a Beauty Advisor Guide to start with.
“This empowers the new recruit to start selling to friends, neighbours and relatives straight away,” notes Ria Cassell, Sales Director for Avroy Shlain South Africa.
New recruits are led by Group Manager and meet either on a one-to-one basis or at a group meeting where the recruit is taken through the Beauty Advisor Guide.
The Manager then trains them on how to sell, what to sell, where to sell, and how to place and pay for orders. After placing an order, the recruit can then collect the goods from their Manager and distribute it as needed. Additional training is also provided at weekly meetings.
Cassell gives new recruits the following tips: “Word of mouth is the most effective form of advertising, so tell everybody and anybody that you are an Avroy Shlain Beauty Advisor.”
Even though it is mostly a part-time business, Cassell also advises new recruits to make time for selling and delivering parcels, as well as building personal relationships with their clients. “The more time you devote, the more sales you will have, and the more money you will make.”
She also adds that good product knowledge is important and recruits should sell the products with confidence. “If recruits have enough faith in their products, people will buy into it.”
Asked whether anybody could succeed in direct selling, Cassell answers: “There are no entry level qualifications needed, and anybody with drive and enthusiasm can succeed. Recruits don’t need a background in sales or marketing, because we provide training on our easy formula for success, and what it takes to get results.”
There have been many success stories of housewives and business women who have started their own businesses based on Avroy Shlain’s advice and input, and thepositive feedback from these successful entrepreneurs has been enormous.
“It is Avroy Shlain’s first objective to make a difference in people’s lives by offering them an earnings opportunity that will change their lives, as well as the lives of the families and communities around them,” says Cassell.
Cassell concludes by saying that, as a company, Avroy Shlain is extremely proud of being able to empower so many women, and also help develop small businesses that form an integral part of South Africa’s economy.
