The flamboyant Treavor beat other seven contestants to bag Africa’s biggest hair challenge cheque: R250 000, at the finals ceremony held at Theatre on Track, Midrand last Sunday.
The Bethlehem winner met the Judges criteria to show flair, uniqueness and freedom to create and defy the norm in hairstyles that saw him drawing whistles and ululations from the sold-out ceremony…
Other contestants also pocketed R30 000 for their efforts.
Sofn’ Free HairXperts other winners includes: Arthur Tlhalatsi (from the Top 18 HairXperts) of Port Elizabeth who took the R30 000 viewer’s choiceAward;
Doctor Sithole (Vosloorus) walked away with R30.000 prize for theSoftn’Free Technical Expert title;
Khe Zondi (Pietermaritzburg) was awarded the Defy the Norm prize for excelling at avante guarde styling;
Nicole Pearce (Port Elizabeth) won R30.000 plus the Sofn’Free YoungXperts 2017 Award, for the best student stylist.
She becomes the first ever winner of the Sofn’free #YoungXperts Challenge.
As expected, Somizi “So Mgaga” Mhlongo gave a resounding MC performance as MC, so did Kwesta and Amanda Black, respectively.
