Gauteng sports awards adds three more categories!

Three new categories have been added namely: Community Sport and Recreation programme of the Year; Community media of the Year and School Sport Athlete of the Year.sport awards

At the media launch held at Emoyeni Estate, Jozi recently, MEC for Sport and Recreation Faith  Mazibuko said the addition of these awards are testament to what the departments believes in and also gives us the opportunity to honour our unsung local heroes in communities we live.

The awards will be held on October 2, Silver Star Hotel in Mogale City.

The MEC also urged “all South Africans to give full support to the South African Olympic team that will be representing the country in the upcoming Rio Olympic Games that will take place in the capital city of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro as from 5 August – 21 August 2016″.

Sportsman of the Year

Sportswoman of the Year

Sport Team of the Year

Disabled Sportswoman of the Year

Disabled Sportsman of the Year

Disabled Sports Team of the Year

Most promising athlete of the Year

Most promising team of the Year

Coach of the Year

Technical Official of Year

Administrator of the Year

Sport Fan of the Year

Sport Journalist of the year (Print media, radio and television)

Sport Programme of the Year

Lifetime Achievement Award

School sport athlete of the Year

Community Sport and Recreation programme of the Year

Community media of the Year (print, radio and television)
