Go West organisers break bank to secure top SA artists!

As part of the Heritage and Tourism Month celebrations, the GO WEST music fest which encapsulates four municipalities Mogale City, Westonaria, Randfontein and Merafong City, promises to be the biggest thing ever to happen in the West Region.

Themed “United and celebrating our beautiful heritage under the rainbow sun”, the fest organizers have broken the bank to feature top SA musicians on the line-up.

Despite the districts not being synonymous with tourist sought-after destinations, the GO WEST concept has been earmarked to quell such notions.

According to the press release, GO WEST is a first for the West Rand and aims to encourage a sense of togetherness amongst the residents of the West Rand District Municipality.

Having said that, all of Gauteng and the rest of South Africa are welcome to bring out their camping chairs, sunnies, straw hats and cooler boxes packed with your favourite drinks!

Such events, usually brings the best out of communities who directly or indirectly, benefit through jobs created pre and post the event.

Likelihood, millions are expected to be generated through bookings of accommodations, transport services, hospitality, kasi tourism, etc…

The fiesta rocks from Friday, 21 September and wraps up on Sunday, 23.

From House to Gospel to Jazz, these camaraderie promises to place the West Region on the national showbiz calendar of events, having heard through the grapevines it would be an annual event.

On Friday 21 Sep 2012 Go West Youth Bash takes place at Donaldson Dam, Randfontein, featuring Black Coffee, DJ Cleo, DJ Sbu, DJ Oskido, DJ Zinhle, Big Nuz, A.K.A., HHP and others.

Saturday, Gospel Concert (Carletonville Sports Complex)comprises of    Sechaba, Solly Mahlangu, Rebecca Malope, Barorisi Ba Morena and many more and on Sunday Festival In The Park (Coronation Park, Mogale City)line-up includes Zahara, Caiphus Semenya, Mi Casa, Kurt Darren, Dave van Vuuren, aKING, Mafikizolo, Jaziel Brothers, Stimela, Ringo, Lloyd Cele and many more.

Tickets range from are R120, R150 and R190 at Computicket, Shoprite and at the event.
