Jabu’s accident still remains a mystery?

Mahlangu was involved in an accident this past Saturday morning, driving his BMW M4 that collided with a taxi in Benoni, East Rand not far from Daveyton, his home area.

Shuffle” as he’s known to his legions of fans bought the Beemer last year.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring did confirm that Mahlangu was not at the scene when the paramedics arrived, with his car left unattended.

“This (Saturday) morning 15 people got injured when a light motor vehicle and taxi collided on Modderbee Road in Benoni. ER24 arrived at 6am to find a light motor vehicle on the road, while a taxi had rolled, coming to a stop a short distance away.

Several people were seen walking around the scene or seated on the pavement,” Meiring said.

“Medics assessed the patients and found that a woman from the car and 14  men and women from the taxi had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were found.

“The patients were treated and later transported to nearby hospitals for further care. The driver of the light motor vehicle was not found on the scene. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” he said.

The former Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, SuperSport player left the scene and his car unattended and booked himself into another hospital.

His attorney, Mabu Marweshe, from a law firm that represents Mahlangu — Marweshe Attorneys — said he could not provide details on Mahlangu’s condition.

He said Mahlangu, 41, is in Far East Rand Hospital in Brakpan, and that the accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

“We can confirm the accident happened involving our client and he is still in hospital,” Marweshe said.

“As soon as the doctors have given the go-ahead to consult with us we will be able to provide more information.”

Marweshe said the law firm has not taken instructions from Mahlangu on the matter yet.

He’s a football analyst with SuperSport channel.

Mahlangu’s brother Tseki Pule mobile has been off since Saturday, thus unavailable for a comment.
