ECONOMIC FREEDOM FIGHTER Julius Malema’s latest graduation is a sign of proving that it may seem impossible until it’s done- a quote borrowed from his former Commissar, lawyer and late ANC President Dr Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
He has been honoured for graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree‚ a year after he had obtained his BA from the same institution, UNISA.
Under his leadership at EFF, top structures are academics from the party’s spin-doctor Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, Floyd Shivambu and Adv Dali Mpofu, amongst others.
It’s a good story to tell in that Sello- as he’s known- was given a flack by the country for having failed dismally his wood-work subjects while still with the ANCYL.
He was also a member of Masupatsela (Trailblazers) an ANC secret inner structure movement when he was still wet behind ears.
Albeit for him it’s not about proving a point but “showing leadership skills” as he once uttered that the ‘country must be led by someone with an academic background’ for it will conscientious the country to read.
Malema also indicated on Wednesday (during graduation ceremony) that he was a good friend of the late ANC Councillor in Umzimkhulu Municipality- KwaZulu-Natal, Sindiso Magaqa, who died due to poisoning this week, after being hospitalized following an ambush on his life that took place in July this year.
Magaqa was a good thinker‚ who was fearless but always measured, said Malema, who also indicated he was on the verge of recruiting him to the EFF.
In Setswana we say- thuto gae golelwe (you can’t outgrow education).
