Macufe never cease to amaze as top stars descend in FS!

andy-narell
Back once again. Steel pan expert Andy Narell is part of the 2016 Macufe mega line-up.

Great times and Great Moments are upon the Free State Province, as the 19th edition of the annual Mangaung African Cultural festival, takes shape this week long.

Reported to contribute millions into the coffers of the province, it begins from September 30 to October 9, 2016, thanks to our neighbours added currency.

As per custom, top international stars and our proud local acts have been confirmed for a stellar line-up to die for, on various programmes.

From award winning and jazz exponent (specializes in steel pan) Andy Narell to Karyn White both from US and Roneo Mputu from DRC, this is a showpiece not to miss, as it unfolds on October 8 at Rose Gardens, Loch Logan- the traditional host venue for the past years.

It also features top ‘dawgs’ of the game Stimela; Zonke; Nathi; Lira; Jimmy Dludlu; Presss; Tsepo Tshola; Vusi Nova; DJ Finzo; What What & Ruby Red, among others.

Ticket R350.

“As we continue to reconstruct our society from many social ills that still confront us to date, we are reminded that the goals and aspirations we have for South Africa as set out in the Freedom Charter and the NDP, can only be realized if the people are truly united in their diversity and that sport is a vehicle to deliver social cohesion and nation building,” says MEC for arts and culture in FS Maathabo Leeto.

Age defier. Karyn White will enthrall her fans at the main jazz fest in MACUfe.

Free State Province, which hosted these years’ National Tourism Month celebrations recently, is expected to work harder in improving and sustaining tourism development strategies as per tourism charter, this follows a dip in tourist visit numbers.

According to a well known figure (identity withheld), who is versed within the sector and also a board chairman of one tourism authority, all these activities could help to increase brand awareness of the province both locally and internationally.

Sport tourism is one identified activity that appeals to family and the organizers as usual, have once again identified the ‘Mighty AmaKhosi’ to face the FS darling ‘Sewelele’ on Sunday at FS Stadium.

Tickets – Grand stand R60, Open Stand R50 & Juvenile R30.

Another kaleidoscope of events includes Indoor Jazz featuring Hugh Masekela; Caiphus Semenya; Bhudaza and Andy Narell on Thursday at The Dome, Old Grey Sports Ground.

Ticket R240.

Others include Hip Hop;  Miss Glamorous Free State; Macufe Gospel Concert; Macufe Word Fest; Comedy Festival; Urban Youth Festival and many more.
