On 9 March 2015, Habedi was found dead in his bedroom at his Alexandra home.
Addressing the court, Judge Solly Sithole explained to the state that there is a difference between remorse and regret.
Judge Sithole handed down a medium sentence for Manqele because she had tried to resuscitate him and did not flee the scene.
She will serve 12 years in prison, but she cannot get out on parole until she has served eight of those years.
