Metropolitan provincial games kick off!

They kick-off at Flavius Mareka College, Sasolburg on Saturday.

Six regional winners from around the province will determine the two Free State representatives at the national championship, to be held later in the year.

Springfontein Secondary from Springfontein, Yakhisizwe Secondary from Parys, Dr Reginald Cingo High from Kroonstad, Ntsu High from Bethlehem, HTS Louis Botha from Bloemfontein and Harmony High from Virginia, will battle it out…

Teams are to be divided into two groups of three, which will be decided according to a round-robin format. The two winners will progress to the provincial final -as well as securing automatic qualification for the national finals.

Metropolitan brand executive, Belinda Faulkner, said that “Metropolitan has been an integral part of development soccer in South Africa for over 20 years. Sponsorships such as these help young aspiring soccer players to gain some much needed exposure.”

Mandla Mazibuko, President of the South African Schools Football Association and SAFA Vice-President says:” This indeed promises to be a season filled with adrenalin rushing stuff, fun, excitement and consolidation of community spirit thanks to the partnership between SASFA and Metropolitan.”

The Metropolitan sponsorship goes way back in supporting school’s sport.
