MTPA reignites travel through an expo as it celebrates Tourism Month

As Tourism Month is celebrated in September, the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency is ready to welcome back tourists by hosting the Mpumalanga Tourism Expo, from 11 to 12 September, Riverside Mall in Mbombela, Nelspruit.

This is part of rejuvenating and reigniting tourism in the province, and will invite over 22 provincial tourism products in the country to showcase their offerings and capabilities.

“We appreciate the hosting and timing of the tourism expo, because September is Tourism Month in South Africa and the event fits perfectly with our tourism month objectives of encouraging the locals to travel in their own province,” says the CE at the MTPA- Johannes Nobunga.

The Expo is done in partnership with Jakada Holdings, whose founder Xolani Mthethwa, said the Mpumalanga Tourism Expo will provide a platform for 22 provincial tourism products to showcase their tourism offerings to the local and domestic market.

“Ten hosted buyers from Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu Natal will be invited to attend the expo to interact with the exhibitors to learn about the tourism products on offer in the province,” says Mthethwa.

Nobunga cited:” We fully support this initiative as it will assist the province to increase the tourist arrivals, particularly, as we battle with the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Mpumalanga- where the Sun rises- amongst its living legend, boast the likes of world renowned uGogo Esther Mahlangu, who was born in 1935 on a farm outside Middleburg.
