As a winner, she also received keys to her new vehicle a Nissan Juke 1.6 DIG-T Tekna complete with sunroof and navigation system.
Kunene, a 23-year-old education honours student from Mpumalanga is studying at Wits when she took the title.
Her prize package includes cash, a luxury skiing holiday and products together valued at more than R2 million. She also gets thousands of rands in cash and study bursaries to award to South Africans that she meets during her
reign.
Her parents Christopher and Baby Kunene were on hand to celebrate with their daughter.
Runners-up were Elizabeth Molapo from the Freestate (1st Princess) and Tayla Skye Robinson from Gauteng (2nd Princess).
“I’m over the moon and it’s a surreal that I’m the new Miss SA. It does not get better than this,” she exclaimed at the morning breakfast.
“My responsibilities will involve traveling and championing the good causes such as helping and monitoring CSI projects that Sun International looks after.”
