Although the news broke last week on his appointment, the well travelled player was only revealed to the press on Tuesday, during media day in Roodepoort.
Khenyeza, joins the GladAfrica side on a two-year deal.
Addressing curious members of the press, Mabhudi says joining the club was no fluke and was ready to take the bull by its horns.
“Look this is a different feel environment altogether but my wish is to improve the team from its current position, of which firstly will have to work around the mentality of the players and instil hunger to succeed,” said Mabhudi flanked by his new boss Tim Sukazi, a lawyer by profession.
Posed to Sukazi on the mandate, he said there will be none, as he believes most of the teams fail because of such clause in the contract.
“For us to bring Mabhudi at our club, was a move that was initiated by talks we’ve been having with him for a while. So, its not a decision that was taken yesterday. He has been attending most of our KZN games so he knows the set-up thus far, hence we decided against so called ‘mandate’,” quipped Sukazi, who went further and pointed out we shall give him the support he needs as a young coach, the curiosity that necessitated the question of age.
Having played soccer for more than 20 years’ Mabhudi is also credited for having produced a number of very good players, some of whom are here at TS Galaxy.
The former Kaizer Chiefs, Sundowns, AmaZulu and Golden Arrows player officially assumes his duty on Tuesday, 18 February ahead of the club’s next home game against TS Sporting on Sunday, 1 March.
