This follows the never ending rumblings between the well-rounded sports presenter Marawa and SABC that had to do with contents on his popular daily sport show on Metro FM- 083 with Marawa.
In accepting his decision, SABC said:” SABC Sport has accepted his decision to repudiate his contract with the SABC‚ which he entered into with SABC Sport on the 6th of June 2017.
“The SABC engaged Mr. Marawa several times to try and remedy the situation‚” the broadcaster said in a statement.
Sully Motsweni‚ Group Executive of Sport‚ paid tribute to him.
She said: “Mr. Marawa contributed immensely to the Sport brand within the organisation‚ especially on radio station Metro FM. It was hard for us to accept but we concede to his decision”.
The SABC also thanked Marawa for his service to SABC Sport and Radio at large. “The corporation wishes him well in his future endeavours.”
Asked what she made of the situation, Thusi said “my man has experience and thick record to prove himself. He will get offers because he’s a brilliant man,” she responded coolly, when asked by comedian Tumi Morake on her new SABC 3 show #WTFTumi last night.
“You’ll never know he might end up with Touch HD,” a reference to another former SABC’s employee Thabo “TBo Touch” Molefe’s station.
