Thobani Mcwango, who has been instrumental in his club’s run in the league, was included in the squad to face Gambia for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
According to coach Shakes Mashaba, the reason for his inclusion is to improve the strike force, that the squad is facing.
Mncwango, who has scored 12 league goals this season and his presence could be welcomed by Mashaba and the team, is likely to jump ship as teams are after his signature.
As for the striking department Mashaba says that’s a problematic area for us.
“He can bang in the goals‚” said Mashaba after announcing his squad at Safa House on Thursday.
Sadly, both countries are without a win in the qualifiers.
Bafana‚ who are in third place on three points‚ will play a friendly match on June 7 an opponent Safa will confirm.
