METRO FMs top radio presenters billed to host the much anticipated awards.
The Northern Cape born ‘Proverb’ and likeable Luthando ‘Lootlove’ have been tasked with the mandate to co-host the Metro FM awards 2024, scheduled for April 27, at Mbombela Stadium, Mpumalanga.
Anticipated, because the gong form part of the 30 years’ commemoration of democracy in SA, and in an unprecedented move the awards will be followed by a music festival at the stadium, in what promises to be a night of galaxy.
Born Tebogo Thekisho, ‘Proverb’ co-host of the midday show alongside Lerato Kganyago and Mel Bala. He’s also busy with academic studies, yet Luthando ‘Lootlove’ Shosha, just made her debut on the afternoon drive show with Tbo Touch and team, after hiatus from the showbiz world.
This will be her first hosting the awards.
The awards theme ‘Black To The Future’, is a celebration of the achievements and contributions of black artists in the music industry.

It was only fitting that this year’s theme be carried by some of the industry’s best presenters, who bring a wealth of knowledge about diverse facets of the SA arts and entertainment scene.”

Other hosts for the glamorous shindig features TV personality and co-host of ‘The Penthouse Sessions’, Lamiez Holworthy and 5FM’s Afternoon Drive presenter Zanele Potelwa, will co-host and capture all the winners thrill from the ‘Green Room’.
The ‘Best Mornings’ host DJ Sabby and SABC 1 presenter, Nomalanga Shozi will bring all the action from the Motsepe Foundation sponsored ‘Black Carpet.
Local tourism will boom with tourists from all corners of the country and neighbouring State eSwatini, that will contribute millions into the coffers of the province from the economical spin-offs, with accommodation sold out!
The Mpumalanga Provincial Government and the Motsepe Foundation, are the main sponsors and hosts, respectively.
Each category winner will receive R50 000, and the much vaunted Song of the Year winner pockets a cool R150 000.
Santam is sponsoring the Best New Artist category.

The awards will be broadcast live on SABC 1 and streaming service SABC Plus, at 20:00.
