And he’s the Son of the Free State Province.
Neo Pitso, is a South African born but Australian based music rapper.
His biography is thick in the form that despite being a qualified lawyer, he notes heavyweights such as Nas, The Game, Rick Ross, Bone Thugs & Harmony and Cassidy, whom has has shared stages with.
Based in Sydney- Neo comes out as a character with penchant for finer things in life, although he does not reveal much about his private life; suffice to say he has been endorsed as one of the Blackberry ambassadors alongside music sensation Alicia Keys and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton.
In 2015, Pitso was awarded an iconic African Australian of the year award at the Sydney Opera House. Later that year he released a song with hit-maker SA’s AB Crazy that stayed at #1 for 3 weeks in mzansi and cracked the top 10 in Australia, respectively.
The 28 year old, has used his qualification to unlock opportunities in the corporate world and influential in hobnobbing with top music stars.
The degree was a double in Law and Politics. The studies have been deferred indefinitely and all study was undertaken in Australia.
Asked what influenced him to go the route of being a rapper, Neo started doing poetry from a young age and won numerous accolades for his performances. He has always been an artist at heart inspiring others through his choice of genre which ultimately became Hip- Hop.
His greatest influence is Jay-Z for both his musical catalogue and his meteoric rise through corporate America with Hip Hop as his foundation.
His latest single Energy to be released later in the year, is all about “connecting your energy with everything around you, putting out positivity with your Energy and reaping the rewards”.
Neo attributes the success he has achieved thus far to the massive amounts of energy and passion he pours into his craft, he tells SLM.
In 2017, he continues to wow audiences with his electrifying life performances.
“I would like to collab with locals once again such as Max-Hoba, Cassper Nyovest and AB Crazy,” when posed to him which other SA artists he would like to work with?
Ironically, his favourite rapper is the controversial AKA.
His single will also feature AB Crazy.
Aptly known as ‘Mr Obsessed with Success’ his stage name- Neo which means a Gift (SeSotho) will also feature Max-Hoba (he’s FS buddy and Afro Soul artist) on the album.
For now the (Welkom nurtured) is an independent artist and for entering the saturated market of rappers is worth a risk that has thus far paid dividends.
Whether he might be back home now that rap music is getting the recognition it deserves, for Neo this could be an indefinite ask.
