SA worst performing when coming to creation of entrepreneurs!

Engaging young minds. The latest J&B Hive seeks to create a platform for future entrepreneurs.

An initiative supported by J&B, one the world’s favourite whisky drinks and other funders- the latest J&B Hive, is a networking hub designed to support innovation and facilitate collaboration among South Africa’s budding entrepreneurs.

South Africa’s entrepreneurs scale is increasing but the report from Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2016 is a contrast, in that it notes SA is the worst performing on the African Continent.

This is a serious wake up call, hence the initiative by J&B Hive, whose co-founder Andrew Simelane, says it was for this reason they’ve initiated this platform of entrepreneurs to share with budding on how to stay heads above water and be job creators instead of job hunters.

“The adage holds true that no man is an Island. A successful entrepreneur requires innovation, determination, resilience and an incredible amount of hard work. But just as important are the networks you build around yourself and your business,” says Simelane.

“The J&B Hive gives all entrepreneurs in our ecosystem the right tools, training, mentoring and platforms for collaboration necessary for their respective businesses to succeed.”

“If South Africa’s economy is to continue to see healthy growth, we need more people actively involved as employers, and not just employees.

Creating employment is one, if not the most important challenge for South Africa, and if we are going to tackle it effectively, a change in perspective is required on several fronts,” he added.

The J&B Hive brings together an ecosystem of creative entrepreneurs to support initiatives, facilitate collaboration and truly revolutionise the way young people, particularly within black communities, have traditionally been taught to pursue their entrepreneurial endeavours.

The Hive belongs to game-changers!

The launch was held in Braamfontein recently-the academic hub exposed to thousands of students who are budding entrepreneurs from all backgrounds.
