The workaholic Jacques Grobbelaar, CE at Stadium Management South Africa, was optimistic that they will deliver on their mandate to increase and capacitate stadiums.

“It is our aim to create a safe, friendly and hassle free environment for our ticket holders. In order to do this, we will ensure strict security procedures, open communication channels and easy to use facilities.

One of the challenges faced by The Soccer City Complex is the dissatisfactory game attendance in the PSL league. Some of the contributing factors include poor team performances, match day transport and the increased tickets prices.

To tackle this challenge, SMSA has created initiatives such as allowing 2 people into the stadium on one ticket purchased for the occasional game.

Happy hours with beers costing less than they would at local shebeen is another way to encourage fans to the stadiums early. In future, SMSA would like to offer patrons a free meal with the purchase of their tickets.

Spectators should be eager to get to the stadium early on derby day with the happy hour beer tent open from 13:00 to 14:00.
