THE SA Fashion Festival began from March 24 to 26.
It has been held exclusively at the Box Shop, Vilakazi Street, Orlando in Soweto.
The SAFF is all about identity and self-articulation, a way in which one can express “our stories and celebrate where we come from”.
It also celebrate what it means to be SA and truly African. Women need to prove that there is no wrong way to be a woman and validate their size to the fashion world, according to the press release.
The four-day festival brings along practitioners, the market, media and the future of SA Fashion in the townships under one roof, whose theme for 2022 is “Culture First”.
It is aimed at assisting emerging designers to be recognized by potential clients; to promote local products in the clothing and textile business; to promote fashion, innovation and culture in South Africa particularly in townships and villages and to encourage and support design and fashion innovation, amongst others.
There will be live performances, food fair, business talks and live auction at the fest.
