The heart goes on as Celine Dion branches out!

Her heart goes on. Celine Dion, who lost both husband and brother, has ventured into lifestyle branding, a sign that life has to go on, which her family fully supports.

The 48-year-old singer will follow in the footsteps of stars including Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon and Ellen by branching out with her own line of home goods, active wear, accessories, eyewear, beauty and travel products.

Dell Furano, CEO of Epic Rights, the company she is partnering with on her new project, told Billboard: “On a global level, [artists] need to combine all areas – their music, performances, touring, website, social media – and launching a lifestyle brand was just a natural extension for Celine at this point in her career, particularly because it’s all from her point of view.”

The business has yet to be named but plans are in place to start rolling out products, which will be modelled on Celine’s values “family, music, entertainment and style”, from late next year .

He added: “This is a very organised, very well thought out programme. And what makes this unique from [other artist programs] is simple: it is Celine herself.”

Celine’s husband René Angélil passed away in January aged 73 after battling throat cancer and the singer previously insisted she wanted their children – five-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, and 15-year-old son René-Charles – to know that “the show must go on”.

She said: “I really, really want to prove to my kids their mother is strong. René always insisted the show must go on. You know what, I’m 48 years old and I lost the love of my life. I miss him a lot from when he was great but not when he was suffering. I cannot be selfish. You have to let people go. I feel at peace.

“He left me with all of his strength. Every day we live with him, just not physically. I’m thankful that he does not suffer anymore.”
