The RedSquare DJ Knockout continues to empower women as a build-up to the grand finale!

Thanks to a partnership between the Redsquare DJ KnockOut Challenge and iKwekwezi FM; a lady DJ will automatically qualify to battle for R114 000 in cash and deejaying equipment worth R120 000.

The talented and lucky record spinner finalist will make it to the RedSquare DJ Knockout Challenge via iKwekwezi FM’s DJ’s@Play competition (conducted live on air, for nearly eight weeks) and would have garnered the most in sms votes from the station’s listeners.

“The RedSquare DJ Knockout Challenge is about fair and equal opportunity. We have noticed that over the years we tend to attract more male DJ’s and we continue to make efforts to attract lady DJ’s. So, when –in our partnership negotiations-iKwekwezi FM informed us of their female DJ competition we were instantly in agreement that it would be right to have the station’s winner automatically entered into our grand final so as to further boost female participation and representation in the RedSquare DJ KnockOut Challenge,” says Victor Selaelo, RedSquare Marketing manager.

Dj Divalesh along with Lady Sesi, Angel B and Lady Cream make-up the top four finalists of iKwekwezi FM’s DJ’s@Play. The winner will be announced on November 29 at Memento’s Lifestyle (Kamelrivier near Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga) and receive a six thousand rands cash prize.

However, in the event that Divalesh wins DJ@Play, she would not be able to go through to the RedSquare DJ KnockOut Challenge, where she would have defended her title, because she is last year’s winner and the competition restricts previous winners from re-entering for at least five years.

Good news for females: the first 100 ladies dressed in white, looking hot and fly will gain free entry and receive a RedSquare gift at the RedSquare DJ KnockOut Challenge finals on December 16.

Since its inception in 2007; the RSDJKC has produced unknowns to become households’ brands within the entertainment industry.

Celebrated acts of note German-born but SA based Ralf Gum, French born DJ Rocco, DJ R Voona from Ikwekwezi FM, Monique Bingham from New York City, Christos, Vinny Da Vinci, LuloCafe, Thulibathu, Sisco Tee and Divalesh, will rock the stage.

Tickets for the 8th RedSquare DJ KnockOut Challenge final are R100 at Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper, House and Home or at selected OK Furniture and U Save stores.
